Urgent Recall: FDA finds Meridia increases the risk of heart attack or stroke by 16%
On October 8th, 2010, Abbott Laboratories voluntarily agreed to pull the drug Meridia after a USDA review of data showed that a 16 percent increased risk for heart attack, stroke and death among people taking the drug (sibutramine), compared with those taking a control.
