RJ Abernathy

Prior to my going to law school, I spent over twenty years as a Laborer with Local 100 in East Saint Louis, Illinois. I think this previous work experience sets me apart from other lawyers in several respects. Unlike most lawyers who handle asbestos cases, I have worked in the same or similar factories, refineries and power plants in which my clients have worked. I also have a true understanding of our clients’ fears and anxieties when faced with an asbestos related disease, as my family has also been similarly devastated. I lost my dad in 1999 to an asbestos related cancer. This experience coupled with my legal training allows me to assist our clients in pursuing their cases to the fullest extent possible.

In some respects, finding a law firm in which to work is much the same as finding a lawyer to represent you during a very difficult time in your life. I chose this law firm because of its commitment to its clients. At Goldenberg Heller Antognoli and Rowland, the client is not just another file number. We get to know our clients and understand their problems and concerns. We work as hard for our clients as they worked to earn a living or while serving our country in the Armed Forces.
