Kevin Green

I joined the firm as an associate in the Business and Commercial Law department in 2010.

I grew up with a parent in the military, which meant that I often moved around as a child. My father retired from military service when I was in sixth grade, and I was fortunate enough to remain in O’Fallon, Illinois through high school. This area has always been “home” to me, and I am grateful for the opportunity to practice here and assist local business professionals achieve their goals. I became a lawyer because I enjoy solving problems. The law permeates every aspect of life, and this can cause unexpected problems that our firm can help you solve.

After graduating from O’Fallon Township High School, I attended college at Loyola University Chicago. My three years of participation on the Loyola University mock trial team steered me towards law school. After graduating from Loyola, I attended Washington University School of Law. In law school, I competed in the Wiley Rutledge Moot Court Competition and received the Golden Quill award for the best brief. I was also invited to join the school’s A.B.A. National Moot Court team, and my three-person team finished as national quarterfinalists. Additionally, I was an Executive Notes and Projects Editor on the Washington University Journal of Law and Policy, and my student note was selected for publication in the journal.

During my time in law school, I received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for Legal Ethics Seminar and for Jury Instructions and the Trial Process. I also received the Honors Scholar Award, was on the Dean’s List, and was selected as one of ten members of my class to the Order of Barristers for outstanding oral and written advocacy skills.

Before graduating law school, I worked as a legal extern with the Municipal Prosecutions Division of the City of Chicago Department of Law, as an intern with the United States Attorney’s Office in Fairview Heights, Illinois, and as a summer associate with the law firm Sedgwick, Detert, Moran & Arnold in San Francisco, California. In college, I was also a summer intern for the Committee on Small Business in the United States House of Representatives.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, especially about history, politics, or science. I also enjoy playing golf and tennis and watching football and baseball.
